Settlements Manager

Avanti Finance is growing – fast

We’re on a mission to become the best specialist lending company in New Zealand and Australia, and we’re looking for ambitious, driven people to help get us there.

We’ve got bold goals and a clear vision for the future. That means exciting opportunities for those ready to champion new ideas, challenge the status quo, and grow alongside us.

If you’re hungry to make an impact, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and love turning ideas into action – you’ll feel right at home here.

The opportunity

Ready to step up into your first true leadership role? This is a genuine opportunity to move from team lead into a Manager position, with ownership of a high performing settlements function and the support to grow your leadership capability.

You’ll take ownership of a team of 9 across Settlements, supported by seniors in your team who help manage the day to day flow. This role is less about being on the tools and more about leading people, setting standards, and driving performance.

You’ll be front and centre across the business, building relationships, representing your function in meetings, and ensuring settlements are delivered accurately, on time, and with a strong customer focus.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of 9, creating a high performing and accountable environment
  • Setting clear expectations, running performance reviews, and lifting capability across the team
  • Overseeing settlements workflow, ensuring quality, timeliness and consistency
  • Acting as an escalation point for complex or sensitive cases
  • Partnering with stakeholders across the business to understand demand and improve outcomes
  • Driving continuous improvement, risk awareness and operational best practice

What we’re looking for

  • Someone who has had a taste of leadership and is ready to step up into a Manager role
  • Experience coaching or supporting others, even if not in a formal leadership position
  • Strong people focus, with the ability to motivate, guide and hold others accountable
  • Confident communicator who can represent their function and build strong relationships
  • Background in financial services or operations is helpful, but not essential

Why this role

  • Genuine step up into a leadership role with direct reports from day one
  • Strong support structure to help you flourish in your leadership role
  • Exposure across the business, not just within your function
  • A business that will back your growth and development

If you’ve been waiting for the opportunity to move into leadership properly, this is it.
