About the role

Security at the Avanti Group is a core enabler of how we operate and grow.

We have invested in strong foundations, including a well established security framework and work with high quality third party providers. We are now looking for a Senior Security and Cybersecurity Lead who can own the security landscape end to end, keep us ahead of emerging threats, and play a meaningful role in shaping technology decisions across the organisation.

This is a senior role with real influence. You will set direction, assess risk proactively and reactively, and work across teams to ensure security is embedded in everything we do.

If you are a security leader who wants genuine ownership and decision making authority, this role delivers exactly that.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Owning the cybersecurity and security strategy for the Avanti Group
  • Assessing, prioritising and managing security risks across the technology ecosystem
  • Receiving and acting on alerts and insights from a broad third party security environment
  • Leading incident response and security issue management alongside the service desk
  • Evolving and strengthening an existing security framework
  • Advising and influencing senior leaders on security matters
  • Reporting into the IT Operations Manager and partnering closely with the CTO
  • Presenting the security posture to executive leadership and the board

Why this role stands out:

  • Enterprise scale environment without heavy bureaucracy
  • Strong foundations already in place, with room to uplift and refine
  • Trusted partnerships with high quality external providers
  • High visibility role with executive and board exposure
  • A leadership culture that values thoughtful decision making, diverse perspectives and open challenge

About you:

You will bring

  • Senior level experience in security or cybersecurity within enterprise environments
  • Broad exposure across infrastructure, applications and modern software ecosystems
  • Confidence assessing risk and making informed decisions
  • The ability to clearly communicate security risk to non technical audiences
  • Hunger to grow, influence and lead

This role suits someone progressing along a CISO pathway, ready for broader ownership and scope.
