Senior Finance Manager

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for the financial accounting operations for the organisation. This role involves ensuring compliance with accounting standards, managing the preparation of financial statements, meeting tax obligations, and providing strategic financial insights to senior management across the Group. This role acts as a business partner to the wider finance team, and the business.

As Senior Finance Manager, you can expect to:

  • Preserve value for our Group through technical accounting guidance and compliance, policy development, internal controls, leadership of preparation and review of both annual financial statements, Companies Office support and Expected Credit Loss leadership through modelling and reviews with internal stakeholders and Auditors.
  • Create value through superb stakeholder management and an appetite for learning and development at front of mind, at all times. This role will lead a Senior Financial Accountant with a coaching approach and be across change management leadership on a wider level across the Finance function, and the business.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Finance qualification with 7 years experience in finance and accounting within the Financial Services industry.
  • Strong accounting knowledge and ability, including in Hedge Accounting.
  • Up to date knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP and tax regulations in NZ. Hit the ground running with IFRS9 to run the ECL models.
  • A curious mind with a communications focus, and hunger for continuous improvement.
