The role

Reporting to the Group Risk Manager, this role plays a key part in strengthening risk governance across the business, with a strong focus on policy oversight, control design and testing, risk data quality, and embedding effective risk practices. You’ll work closely with leaders across the organisation to support regulatory expectations, enhance risk insight, and ensure operational risks are identified, assessed, monitored, and managed appropriately.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the operation and continuous improvement of Avanti’s operational risk framework
  • Assisting with policy management, control design, testing, and assurance activities
  • Partnering with the business to embed sound risk practices across teams
  • Supporting risk governance, reporting, and data quality
  • Contributing to the identification, assessment, and monitoring of operational risks
  • Using risk data and systems to provide meaningful insights and support decision‑making

What you’ll bring

  • 2–5 years’ experience in financial services or a similarly regulated environment, with exposure to operational risk across any of the three lines of defence
  • Experience working with risk frameworks, control environments, policy management, and/or assurance activities
  • A solid understanding of key risk categories within a financial services organisation
  • Familiarity with enterprise risk management systems (e.g. Protecht or similar) and confidence working with risk data and reporting tools
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail, with strong analytical and numerical capability
  • Well‑developed stakeholder engagement skills and the confidence to work across all levels of the business
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate risk concepts into practical business guidance
