Help turn data into better business decisions

We're looking for a Data Analyst to join our Data & Analytics team!

This role is focused on reporting, dashboard development, data analysis and stakeholder engagement. You'll work closely with teams across the business to understand reporting requirements, transform data into meaningful insights, and help deliver information that supports better decision-making.

We're open to a range of experience levels and are interested in speaking with both capable junior analysts and intermediate-level professionals. What matters most is your technical capability, analytical thinking and ability to work effectively with stakeholders.

The role

As a Data Analyst, you'll support the ongoing development of reporting and analytics capabilities across the business. You'll work with modern analytics and visualisation tools, helping maintain reporting solutions, analyse business data, and provide insights that add value to operational and strategic decision-making.

This is a hands-on role where you'll have the opportunity to work across a variety of analytics initiatives while building your skills and experience within a supportive team environment.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions
  • Analyse data and provide meaningful business insights
  • Prepare, manipulate and validate data from multiple sources
  • Work with stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements
  • Translate business needs into effective reporting and analytics outcomes
  • Support ongoing business intelligence and analytics initiatives
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting and data capabilities across the organisation

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with data and can combine technical capability with strong communication skills.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Experience working with Snowflake
  • Experience using Power BI, Tableau, SAS Visual Analytics or similar reporting and visualisation tools
  • Strong data analysis and data manipulation skills
  • The ability to identify trends, patterns and opportunities within data
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • The ability to explain data and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to work closely with business teams
  • Curiosity, initiative and a desire to continue learning

What's in it for me?

At Avanti Finance, you'll be supported to grow your career, develop new skills and take ownership of your professional development.

You'll have the chance to give back to the community through initiatives such as Duffy Books in Homes and our annual volunteer day programme.

Depending on the role and team, flexible working arrangements may be available to support your work-life balance.

You'll have access to a range of benefits, which include enhanced KiwiSaver employer contributions (on top of your base salary), enhanced parental and secondary carer benefits, free access to a gym, pilates studio, sauna and state-of-the-art end of trip facilities, and fresh fruit in the office.

If you're looking for a place where you can realise your potential, feel supported and make a meaningful contribution, we'd love to hear from you.
