The role:
As our Senior Automation Test Engineer, you’ll be a key part of how we ship change safely and confidently across Avanti’s core technology systems. You’ll build and improve automation that gives fast feedback, strengthens release confidence, and keeps quality embedded from development through to production.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with internal technology teams and business stakeholders, and at times external technology partners, to ensure requirements are clear, testable, and delivered with the right level of coverage. A big part of the role is building strong automated testing around APIs, integrations, and web applications, helping us detect issues early and reduce regression risk as we scale.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts
- Develop and execute automated tests across APIs, web applications, and integrations
- Partner with developers to embed quality and testability throughout the development lifecycle
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery
- Build and maintain meaningful test coverage across systems
- Identify defects early and support root cause analysis and resolution
- Support regression testing and release validation
- Recommend and leverage AI‑assisted testing where it adds genuine value
- Contribute to test strategy, standards, and quality practices
- Document test cases, automation approaches, and test outcomes
- Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and ways of working
What you'll bring
- 3+ years’ experience in software testing and/or test automation
- Hands‑on experience with automated testing tools and frameworks
- Programming or scripting experience (C#, JavaScript, or similar)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated build processes
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Strong attention to detail and a problem‑solving mindset
- Ability to collaborate effectively within cross‑functional teams
- Clear and confident communication skills
