Relationship Manager - Property

Step into a pivotal, newly created role within Avanti Finance’s Lending team. This is your opportunity to shape and establish the framework for a new function, delivering outstanding outcomes for our clients. At the heart of our real estate–backed lending portfolio, this role offers the chance to make a real impact from day one.

Reporting directly to the Head of Property Lending, you’ll manage and grow strong customer relationships with clients whose loans are secured against real estate. Balancing strategic engagement, problem-solving, and hands-on portfolio management, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring customers receive exceptional service and support throughout their journey with Avanti.

As a Relationship Manager, you can expect to:

• Proactively manage and nurture relationships with existing home loan customers, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
• Assess, approve, and manage lending applications, top-ups, restructures, and extensions within delegated lending authority.
• Review and manage property loans with balloon payments, ensuring repayments occur within requirements or providing long-term solutions.
• Handle loans up to 30 days in arrears, working collaboratively with clients to rehabilitate accounts.
• Conduct welcome calls for all new customers, ensuring smooth onboarding (including council rates direct debit setup).
• Manage security substitutions, partial discharges, consents, and notifications for late/cancelled insurance payments.
• Conduct proactive outreach - offering tailored product solutions, promotions, and retention strategies.
• Provide timely, solutions-focused responses to customer queries, both in person and virtually.
• Collaborate closely with Property Lending and Collections teams, bringing customer insights to help shape informed business decision
  

What we look for in the successful candidate:

To succeed in this role, you’ll have a strong foundation in lending and finance, along with the people skills to deliver an exceptional customer experience:

• Proven background in lending, finance, or property-related industries (Level 5 certification desirable).
• Sound knowledge of consumer finance and associated legislation.
• Experience managing multiple client portfolios, with a focus on satisfaction and retention.
• Confidence engaging customers over the phone and in person – including managing difficult conversations with tact and professionalism.
• Strong time management and multitasking skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Resilient, solution-focused, and confident in troubleshooting challenges.
• Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team.
• Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
