We are looking for a Legal Summer Clerk to join our in house legal team over the summer and get genuine, hands on legal experience in a commercial environment.

This is not a structured training programme or a box ticking internship. You will be properly involved in real work, learning directly from our legal team and getting exposure to the kinds of matters that come up inside a growing financial services business.

You could be helping with legal research, commercial contracts, lending documentation, governance, regulatory matters, templates, internal resources and general legal support across the team. There may also be the chance to work on Australian legal matters with our Australia based lawyer, giving you exposure across both sides of the Tasman.

This is a great opportunity to get a real taste of what in house legal work looks like, build practical experience and understand how legal advice supports business decisions.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Studying towards an LLB or LLB(Hons)
  • In their penultimate year, or around two years from finishing their degree
  • Curious about commercial law, financial services and in house legal work
  • Strong in research, writing and attention to detail
  • Proactive, switched on and willing to get involved
  • Comfortable asking questions and learning as they go

You do not need previous legal work experience. We are more interested in your attitude, potential and willingness to learn.
