Group Financial Controller
Avanti Finance Group is a privately owned non-bank lender operating across New Zealand, and Australia. Reporting to the CFO, as Group Financial Controller you will be responsible for managing the Group’s financial accounting systems and practices, ensuring financial information is timely, accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant accounting and taxation principles. This role will provide a wide range of financial advice and assistance to the CFO and Executive team to enable them to make sound business decisions. It is essential that the Group Financial Controller provides strong leadership and support to the Financial Control team and builds relationships across all levels of the organisation.
As Group Financial Controller, you can expect to:
- Preserve value for our Group through leading all month and year end processes, audits, calculations and analysis for quarterly IFRS9 (ECL) requirements as well as treasury and hedge accounting requirements and externals relationships. Experience with Australian tax governance will be beneficial as you are across engagements with experts in both countries. You'll be across all internal control, policy development and regulatory compliance and records.
- Create value through top knotch leadership from the front to the Financial Control team and be a coach and mentor to the wider Finance function. You will be key in creating a collaborative, high performing function with business wide reach and stakeholder managment throughout various stages of change journeys.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- At least 10 years PQE with hands on experience within the Financial Services industry.
- Strong accounting knowledge and ability, including in Hedge Accounting and trans tasman Tax governance.
- Up to date knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP and tax regulations in NZ. Hit the ground running with IFRS9 to run the ECL models.
- A curious mind with a communications focus, and hunger for continuous improvement. Be 2IC to the CFO and step your game up every day.
