Funding Analyst

Avanti Finance is growing – fast

We’re on a mission to become the best specialist lending company in New Zealand and Australia, and we’re looking for ambitious, driven people to help get us there.

We’ve got bold goals and a clear vision for the future. That means exciting opportunities for those ready to champion new ideas, challenge the status quo, and grow alongside us.

If you’re hungry to make an impact, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and love turning ideas into action – you’ll feel right at home here.

The role

Reporting to the Head of Funding within the Treasury team, you’ll provide operational support and sharp analysis to help optimise Avanti’s funding facilities. This role plays a key part in supporting Avanti’s securitisation transactions in the public market and works closely with colleagues across Treasury and the wider Avanti Group to deliver accurate, insightful funding analysis.

If you’re analytical, commercially curious, and enjoy working with both numbers and stakeholders - this is an opportunity to build real, structured‑finance experience in a fast‑moving environment.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll be involved in work such as:

  • Supporting structured finance (securitisation) and market transactions, including preparing materials for rating agencies and investors.
  • Assisting with reporting, presentations and engagement with external parties (bankers, investors, trustees, auditors) across current and potential funding vehicles.
  • Providing financial analysis to support new and existing funding structures, helping optimise facilities and operations.
  • Enhancing systems, processes and reporting tools to lift efficiency and accuracy of operational and financial outputs.
  • Leading and supporting ad‑hoc treasury and funding analysis as priorities shift.
  • Contributing to a collaborative team environment and supporting other Treasury team members.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who combines strong fundamentals with genuine curiosity about markets and funding.

  • A tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, Economics, Science, Engineering (or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills - you can turn data into clear insights and actions.
  • Solid Microsoft Office capability, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Interest in financial markets, systems and products, with a desire to learn and grow.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confident communication and relationship skills - comfortable working with a range of stakeholders (including external parties).
  • Experience in treasury, funds management, or financial/management reporting is preferred (but not essential if you’ve got the right capability and drive)

What's in it for me?

Within the Avanti Finance Group, you can look forward to flexible and hybrid working as we offer up to two days working from home following your initial training period. We believe in celebrating diversity, and we also celebrate talent and development by working with you through an established capability framework that puts you in the driving seat of your development while achieving business goals. You won't find a gender pay gap here, as we have great remuneration packages but as we all know there's more to an awesome job than the money. If you are happy and fulfilling your potential, while feeling supported, valued and empowered, then that’s a win for us! Fresh fruit, My Everyday Wellbeing Memberships, and increased Kiwisaver match is there for you to feel good from the inside out.
