Credit Analyst

We’re looking for a commercially minded Credit Analyst to join our Lending Operations team in Sydney. This is a hands on role where you’ll assess credit applications, make sound lending recommendations and provide responsive support to our introducer network.

You’ll join a growing financial services group focused on innovation, personal development, high performance and customer focused lending.

The role

This is a 6 month Fixed Term Contract, initially, reporting to the Credit Team Leader, you’ll assess customer creditworthiness and risk in line with our credit guidelines.

You’ll manage incoming applications, balancing sound credit decisions with timely and supportive service. You’ll work with a range of stakeholders and have the opportunity to contribute your ideas to improvements across our credit systems and processes.

What you’ll do

• Review and analyse incoming credit applications and provide well considered recommendations.

• Approve applications within your delegated lending authority.
• Escalate applications outside your authority to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Provide timely updates and meet agreed turnaround and response times.
• Build positive working relationships with brokers, introducers, dealers and mortgage advisers.
• Respond to application enquiries with clarity and care.
• Provide ongoing service and support to our introducer network.
• Support improvements to credit systems and processes.
• Apply a consistent risk and compliance lens to your decisions.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Branded Financial Services and Avanti Finance Group.
  

What you’ll bring

You’ll be someone who combines analytical thinking with strong communication and relationship-building skills. You’ll be comfortable making considered decisions, asking questions when needed and working through competing priorities without losing attention to detail.

• Experience in banking, lending or financial services within a credit-focused or related role.
• A customer-focused approach and confidence working with a range of stakeholders.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Sound judgement and the ability to explain decisions clearly.
• Good organisation and time-management skills.
• Clear and confident written, verbal and telephone communication.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to support others.
• Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
• Self-motivation and an interest in ongoing learning and development.

Experience in asset finance would be helpful, but it is not essential. If you have relevant transferable experience and are interested in developing your credit career, we encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every preferred requirement.
