This role is reporting to the Collections Officer - Team lead

The purpose of the role is to support BFS and Avanti Finance Group by providing end-to-end debt collection for consumer and commercial clients in the automotive industry. This is your chance to make a real impact, grow your career, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-performing team.

 

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

Do-the-Doing

  • Take ownership of the full collections process for both consumer and commercial clients. Your expertise drives real results.
  • Use your empathy and problem-solving skills to identify customers in financial hardship and recommend the best solutions, from tailored repayment plans to alternative actions such as field calls, repossessions, or write-offs.
  • Become a detective by conducting investigations and skip tracing to help locate hard-to-find customers and resolve outstanding accounts.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with auction houses and external mercantile agents, representing Avanti with integrity and confidence.
  • Be a compliance champion by ensuring every action meets regulatory requirements for Debt Collections and NCCP consumer guidelines.
  • Protect customer privacy and uphold the highest standards by working in line with all company procedures and privacy laws.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Experience in banking and/or finance industries, in a similar role including customer service.
  • Preferred experience in Asset Finance.
  • Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Suite including Word and Excel.
  • Attention to detail with an analytical approach and strong communication.
  • Excellent time-management skills with an ability to work in a pressured, high-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, relationship building and management skills, and confident telephone manner.
  • Team player with a collaborative work style.
  • Masterful at multi-tasking and keeping pace in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent work ethic and self-motivated, with interests in ongoing personal development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
