The role
Reporting to the General Manager – Strategic Delivery, this role plays a key part in driving practical, iterative operational improvements across Avanti. As we continue through a period of growth and transformation, you’ll help teams improve how work gets done - quickly, pragmatically, and with real impact.
This role is firmly grounded in real‑world delivery. Rather than long, theoretical programmes, you’ll focus on observing frontline work, mapping processes, analysing data, and supporting short delivery cycles that lead to tangible outcomes - faster decisions, reduced handling time, and improved customer and broker experiences.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting rapid‑cycle planning and delivery through process observation, workflow mapping, and data analysis
- Working closely with teams across Lending Assessment, Customer Operations, and Collections to understand how work actually happens
- Identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and friction points through discovery and frontline engagement
- Helping build and manage a backlog of small, high‑impact improvement initiatives
- Supporting delivery by completing assigned actions, coordinating inputs, and tracking progress
- Mapping current‑state processes and designing simpler, more efficient future‑state workflows
- Analysing data and operational metrics to validate assumptions and measure improvement impact
- Preparing clear insights, updates, and visual summaries for senior stakeholders
- Gathering feedback post‑implementation and identifying further improvement opportunities
- Supporting agile ways of working, short delivery cycles, and continuous improvement practices
- Ensuring all improvements align with Avanti’s risk, compliance, and regulatory obligation
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years’ experience in business transformation, process improvement, or operational optimisation
- Experience working in fast‑paced environments, ideally within NZ financial services
- Exposure to operational teams such as Lending, Operations, Collections, or Finance
- Practical experience with process mapping, workflow optimisation, or continuous improvement approaches
- Strong analytical capability, with confidence working with data and translating insight into action
- Confidence supporting workshops, discovery sessions, and cross‑functional conversations
- Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to simplify complexity
- Natural curiosity and a hands‑on mindset — keen to explore systems, tools, and data to understand how things really work
