Business Transformation Lead

Avanti Finance is growing – fast

We’re on a mission to become the best specialist lending company in New Zealand and Australia, and we’re looking for ambitious, driven people to help get us there.

We’ve got bold goals and a clear vision for the future. That means exciting opportunities for those ready to champion new ideas, challenge the status quo, and grow alongside us.

If you’re hungry to make an impact, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and love turning ideas into action – you’ll feel right at home here.

We're building a dedicated transformation function to help Avanti get better every day.

Reporting to the Head of Strategic Delivery, you'll join a small team focused on driving operational excellence across the business. Think of it as an internal SWAT team. Every quarter, you'll be dropped into a different area of the business to understand how things really work, identify what's slowing teams down, and deliver improvements that create measurable value.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to write recommendations and move on. We're looking for people who enjoy doing the doing. People who can spot a problem, work out a better way, and push it through to completion.

You'll spend time observing processes, talking to frontline teams, uncovering pain points and implementing practical improvements that make life easier for our people, customers and partners.

What you'll do

  • Lead fortnightly improvement sprints focused on productivity and operational performance
  • Observe frontline processes and identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities
  • Interview stakeholders and gain a deep understanding of how work gets done
  • Deliver process, workflow and automation improvements
  • Build momentum and drive rapid, iterative change
  • Embed within teams when needed to help lift capability and accelerate results
  • Measure outcomes and demonstrate the value delivered
  • Champion a mindset of progress today over perfection tomorrow

What we're looking for

You may come from transformation, process improvement, operational excellence, consulting or a similar environment. More important than your title is your mindset. We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, loves solving problems and has an unrelenting focus on making things better every day. Someone who sees an opportunity, rolls up their sleeves and gets stuck in.

We are a financial services company, so we would need demonstratable experience in this space

You'll bring:

  • Demonstratable experience delivering meaningful business improvements
  • Strong experience working in the financial services space
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • The ability to influence and build relationships across the business
  • A practical approach and a bias for action
  • Resilience, adaptability and a willingness to challenge the status quo
  • A track record of turning ideas into measurable outcomes

If you'd rather deliver change than talk about it, and you're motivated by seeing real productivity wins on the board, we'd love to hear from you.

What's in it for me?

At Avanti Finance, you'll be supported to grow your career, develop new skills and take ownership of your professional development.

You'll have the chance to give back to the community through initiatives such as Duffy Books in Homes and our annual volunteer day programme.

Depending on the role and team, flexible working arrangements may be available to support your work-life balance.

You'll have access to a range of benefits, which include enhanced KiwiSaver employer contributions (on top of your base salary), enhanced parental and secondary carer benefits, free access to a gym, pilates studio, sauna and state-of-the-art end of trip facilities, and fresh fruit in the office.

If you're looking for a place where you can realise your potential, feel supported and make a meaningful contribution, we'd love to hear from you.
