The role
Avanti Finance (BFS) is expanding, creating a rare opportunity to be our first Business Development Manager on the ground in Perth. Reporting to the National Sales Manager – Australia Intermediaries, you’ll be trusted to establish, grow and own our broker and dealer retail presence across WA and SA, supported by a highly experienced national intermediaries team.
This is a true greenfields BDM role, suited to someone who thrives in autonomy, sees opportunity where others see white space, and is excited by building something meaningful from the ground up. You’ll be responsible for developing strong, trusted relationships with new and existing introducers across the Broker & Dealer retail channel, positioning BFS Avanti Finance as a partner of choice in the WA and SA market. Bringing structure, energy and commercial thinking to your patch, you’ll shape strategy, drive new business, and feed valuable market insight back into the wider business.
What you’ll be doing
- Establish and grow referral networks with brokers and dealers across WA and SA
- Develop and execute your own regional strategy to deliver against monthly and annual new business budgets
- Contribute meaningful insights into the wider Sales and Marketing Plan
- Maintain a strong understanding of budgets, strategy, and long‑term growth objectives
- Build and execute Key Account Strategies with regular reviews
- Maintain a clear weekly and monthly call plan with defined objectives
- Deliver ongoing training to introducers across lending standards, disclosure, and new products
- Manage introducer entertainment, promotions, and engagement initiatives
- Act as a connector between introducers and the wider BFS / Avanti Finance teams
- Stay across market trends, competitor activity, pricing and credit appetite
- Provide timely, accurate feedback on market conditions and opportunities
- Act as a trusted, responsive point of contact for introducers
- Ensure documentation, communications and follow‑ups are clear, accurate and timely
About you
You’re a strong, commercially driven salesperson with experience building and growing relationships within financial services - ideally across broker or dealer channels. You know how to open doors, build trust, and convert relationships into sustainable business.
Comfortable working autonomously, you thrive when given ownership of a territory and the freedom to shape how success is achieved. You’re organised, self‑motivated, and confident setting your own priorities while staying aligned to a national sales strategy.
You’ll also bring:
- Proven sales and relationship management experience within finance or lending
- A solid understanding of the broker and/or dealer retail landscape
- Strong commercial acumen and a clear focus on targets and results
- Excellent communication skills and the credibility to influence at all levels
