Accountant - Reconciliation

This role is reporting to the Head of
Accounting Operations.
We’re looking for a qualified Accountant with strong reconciliation experience to join our Accounting Operations team on a 6-month contract. This role is pivotal in supporting the day-to-day accounting function and ensuring the accuracy of our financial data during a busy and exciting time of growth.
Key responsibilities
- Complete morning processes to ensure snapshots and loan application extract files are accurately recorded and loaded into the accounting system.
- Perform daily reconciliations for:
- Loans receivable
- Operational bank accounts
- Automotive insurance (including commission and invoice validation)
- Apply customer payments accurately to loan accounts and allocate sundry payments and receipts to appropriate general ledger accounts or sub-ledgers.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.
Month-End & Reporting
- Meet month-end close-off timelines consistently.
- Assist with statutory reporting and annual audit requirements.
- Maintain and regularly update process documentation.
- Support other team members by providing backup and coverage when needed.
The
successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a similar operational accounting or reconciliation role.
- Accounting degree and CA/CPA qualification preferred.
- Excellent Excel and NetSuite experience.
- Impeccable attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
